Clifford Law Attorneys who represent nine in previous Megabus crash available to speak

Press Release October 14, 2014

While officials sort out the facts about what occurred in today’s tragic Megabus crash in Indiana, Clifford Law attorneys are available to speak on similar passenger buses including the 2012 Megabus crash on I-55 near mile post 57. In that crash, the front left tire of the MegaBus blew out, causing the bus to veer to the left. The bus ran off of the road and entered the median where it struck a guardrail and then a concrete bridge structure. One individual died in that case and a number of other individuals were injured.

Clifford Law Offices represent nine of those victims in that Megabus crash as well as four injured in the bus crash at O’Hare Airport that was owned and operated by Delaware Car Rental, Inc., on Aug. 29, 2014.

Attorneys at Clifford Law Offices, including founder and senior partner Robert A. Clifford and partner Kevin P. Durkin, have tried or settled some of the largest bus crash cases in Illinois. For example, they tried to verdict the case of a six-year-old boy who suffered permanent brain damage after being struck by a school bus and recovered $24.1 million. Durkin and partner Colin H. Dunn recently settled the largest case in Kankakee history that involved the death of a man struck by a bus. It settled on the eve of trial last year for $5 million. Clifford also recovered $15.8 million on behalf a young girl who was struck and injured by a YMCA bus.
