Question: When do people typically use small claims court to settle their legal disputes?Answer: An individual or corporation doing business in Illinois can sue or be sued in small claims court. Small claims court may be used for only certain types of cases, such as breach of contract, property damage, or personal injury; evictions, repossessions of property, and garnishment of wages to enforce court-ordered judgments.
