Feeling the Holiday Time Crunch? -- The ISBA Weighs in on Overtime for Salaried Employees

Question:  If I am paid a salary, can I still qualify for overtime pay? Answer:  Perhaps. You are paid a salary if you regularly receive a predetermined amount each pay period. An employee being paid on a salary basis is not automatically exempt from receiving overtime pay. The primary duties you perform on your job must be exempt to disqualify you for overtime pay.
