Building A Family - The ISBA Lays Out Adoption Rules

Question:  We love our two foster children and would like to adopt them. What are the chances of success? Answer:  The courts generally try, whenever possible, to reunite foster children with their families. However, if a foster child who has been in your home for some time becomes available for adoption, you can discuss your interest in adopting him or her with the caseworker. At that time, you would have to meet all of the usual requirements for becoming an adoptive parent.  For more information about Illinois law, visit www.illinoislawyerfinder.com.
