Clifford, founder and senior partner of Clifford Law Offices, thanked those who support this charitable arm of the ABA because the funds go to needy causes — from providing legal services following Hurricanes Harvey and Maria, to helping immigrant children dislocated from their parents be reunited with their families.

He introduced ABA President Hilarie Bass of Florida who also addressed the group at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the legal troubles involving the immigration crisis in this country.

Clifford concluded with the following remarks: “Legal services create a ripple effect that transcend the individual being helped, impacting their family, career and community. The question today isn’t only about what the ABA can do in a time of crisis. It is what can philanthropy do to shape the world.”

His three-year term as Chair of the FJE expires in 2019.
