Clifford Law Offices Adds Former Assistant State's Attorney as Associate
Press Release, 09/05/2000John T. Karnezis, formerly an Assistant Cook County State's Attorney, recently joined Clifford Law Offices as an associate.
Karnezis, 34, successfully tried more than 65 jury trials and more than 500 bench trials. He served in the Gang Crimes Unit, the Felony Trial Division as well as the Public Integrity Unit of the Special Prosecution Bureau where he assisted in the successful prosecution of former U.S. Representative Mel Reynolds on charges of child pornography and obstruction of justice. John's excellent legal research and writing skills led him to authoring over 25 appellate briefs while an attorney in the Criminal Appeals Division of the State's Attorney's Office in Chicago.
Karnezis has been a faculty member for the United States Naval Judge Advocate General Trial Enhancement Program in Norfolk, Virginia, the National Advocacy Center in Colombia, South Carolina, and the Federal District Court Trial Practice Course in Chicago. He has written and lectured for the National College of District Attorneys and has appeared as a guest commentator on Court TV regarding criminal law and juvenile offenders.
Karnezis received his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago in 1991. He received a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 1988.
