Durkin First Chicago Lawyer Appointed Co-Chair of the Aviation Litigation Section
Press Release, 08/10/2001Kevin P. Durkin, partner at Clifford Law Offices, was appointed last week Co-Chair of the Aviation Litigation Section of the American Bar Association.
The section, which is a significant one within the Section of Litigation, sponsors meetings and seminars throughout the year all over the country. It has more than 400 members nationwide.
Durkin moderated a program on "Ethics in the Media: Are You Crossing the Line?" at the ABA’s Annual Meeting in Chicago. A distinguished panel of lawyers including partner Robert Clifford, Judge Jacqueline Cox, Presiding Judge, Cook County Circuit Court of the First Municipal District, and Bill Kurtis, television documentarian, were among the panelists Monday.
Durkin is one of three Co-Chairs of the Management Committee in the crash of Alaska Air Flight 261 which crashed into the Pacific Ocean last year. He also serves on the Steering Committees of the crashes involving EgyptAir, SwissAir and the Singapore Air disasters.
Durkin is the first Chicago lawyer to hold this position.
