Robert Clifford Elected to the American law Institute
Press Release, 05/21/2003Nationally renown personal injury attorney, Robert A. Clifford, has been elected to be a member of the prestigious American Law Institute (ALI).
The Institute, organized 80 years ago, is a group of 3,000 prominent judges, lawyers and academics from around the country and the world who are selected on the basis of professional achievement and demonstrated interest in the improvement of the law.
The Institute’s charter states that is purpose is "to promote the clarification and simplification of the law and its better adaptation to social needs, to secure the better administration of justice, and to encourage and carry on scholarly and scientific legal work." This is accomplished through various projects including the writing of many Restatements of the Law as well as continuing legal educational seminars.
Judges Benjamin N. Cardozo and Learned harnd were among its early leaders.
