Illinois Supreme Court Appoints Shannon McNulty to Blue Ribbon Committee

Press Release, 02/26/2009

Shannon McNulty, attorney at Clifford Law Offices, has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to a “blue ribbon” Special Committee on Illinois Evidence.  The Court announced that the aim of this committee is to codify the existing evidentiary law so that it is available in a single source for Illinois lawyers.

McNulty joins a roster of judges, practitioners, law professors and state legislators, including newly elected Illinois State Senate President John J. Cullerton and Illinois Republican House Leader Tom Cross on the committee.

In establishing the Special Committee, Illinois Chief Justice Thomas R. Fitzgerald said, “The function of this project is to codify existing law, which is presently contained in state statutes, Supreme Court rules and the common law.  Having the rules of evidence in a single location would be of enormous value to the practitioner.”

McNulty handles complex personal injury and wrongful death cases, particularly in the area of rollover accidents, small plane crashes and the very tragic cases involving the fire at the Cook County Administration Building.

McNulty is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law and the DePaul University Graduate School of Public Management.  She attended Loyola University where she received her undergraduate degree.   She resides with her husband in Orland Park.
