Press Release, 12/15/2009

Keith Hebeisen, partner at Clifford Law Offices, wrote a letter to the editor  of  the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin which was published Monday (12/14/09).  In it, he again exposes the many unfavorable myths about medical malpractice cases and how insurance reform is the key to keeping malpractice insurance rates under control. The Illinois Supreme Court has announced that this Thursday it  will release its long-awaited decision in Lebron v. Gottlieb Memorial Hospital which was a case challenging the cap on damages in medical malpractice cases as unconstitutional. Lebron is  an infant   victim of medical malpractice at birth whose recoverable damages would be severely limited  by the cap passed in 2005.

Hebeisen, former President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers  Association, is expected to be in  Springfield, Illinois, Thursday when the  court's decision is announced.
