Kevin Durkin Receives Prestigious Award from Fenwick High School
Press Release, 05/02/2008 Kevin P. Durkin, partner at Clifford Law Offices, will receive the prestigious Accipiter Award from Fenwick High School in recognition of his outstanding service to the legal profession.
Durkin, a 1973 graduate of Fenwick in Oak Park, will receive the award on May 9 at a luncheon at the Union League Club in Chicago.
The Accipiter Award was founded in 1997 in honor of Rev. Joseph Hren, a longtime teacher of Latin at the school. Accipter is a Latin word meaning “hawk” and is given each year to a deserving recipient in the legal profession. Last year, Illinois Lt. Governor Patrick Quinn was bestowed the honor.
Durkin, the immediate past President of the Chicago Bar Association, has represented numerous people involved in personal injury and wrongful death tragedies around the country. Most recently, he was one of the lead counsel in the $100 million settlement involving those who died or were injured in a smokey fire at the Cook County Administration Building in Chicago. The National Law Journal recognized his $38.3 million verdict in 2004 as being the largest transportation verdict in the country that year.
Durkin is married to Kathy and has three children. They reside in Orland Park.
