Bob Clifford to Testify on Behalf of Consumers Before State Senate Subcommittee on Health Care
Press Release, 03/14/2003Robert A. Clifford, nationally renown personal injury attorney, is set to testify Monday before members of the Illinois General Assembly on behalf of consumers on the issue of health care in Illinois.
Clifford, who has received many multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements against negligent doctors and hospitals in the state, will explain how the civil justice system has little impact on the cost of doctors’ malpractice premiums and the access of patients to the health care system.
Also set to testify is Terrence Lavin, President of the Illinois State Bar Association, at the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago. The hearing is being conducted by the Illinois Sentate Health and Human Services Committee.
The day-long hearing also will include representatives from the insurance industry, the Illinois Hospital Association, physicians and consumer interest groups.
