Clifford Law Offices Files Third Lawsuit Against Metra in Weekend Crash on Behalf of Lockport Woman
Press Release, 09/23/2005Robert Clifford and Clifford Law Offices today (Friday, Sept. 23) filed a lawsuit against Metra on behalf of a woman who was severely injured in Saturday’s crash when a conductor was speeding along the Rock Island line while changing tracks.
Rebecca Bambrick, 56, of Lockport, was on her way to Chicago meeting her mother. She was sitting in the third car of the train when suddenly she says it began rocking back and forth. She says she was thrown about the car "like a rag doll." Bambrick struck her head and suffered a concussion and was rendered unconscious. She also suffered injuries to her legs and hips and severe internal bleeding. She was taken to St. Bernard’s Hospital where she remained for three days. Bambrick is still walking with crutches and is under the care of a physician for her injuries.
Clifford Law Offices has been retained by a number of other persons injured on the train. The firm filed a lawsuit Monday on behalf of Bernadette Jochens of Mokena and Thursday filed a lawsuit on behalf of Kevin Hurley of Chicago who was on his way to work at the Cook County Clerk’s Office in the Real Estate Tax Extension Unit.
