Clifford Law Offices to go Before Judge on Emergency Motion in County Building Fire Case

Press Release, 10/22/2003

Clifford Law Offices will be filing an emergency motion at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2003, and appearing before Cook County Circuit Court Judge William Maddux asking for the 911 tapes and an inspection of the County Administration Building that was involved in Friday’s fire that killed six people and injured dozens of others.

The hearing will be held in Room 2005 of the Daley Center before Maddux, Presiding Judge of the Law Division.

Robert A. Clifford and Kevin P. Durkin, partner at Clifford Law Offices, have secured several experts in building construction and fire safety procedures who will accompany them on an examination of the premises at 69 W. Washington St. if the motion is granted.

Clifford Law Offices filed a case yesterday against the building managers on behalf of a 55-year-old woman who was injured when she became trapped in a stairwell during the blaze.
