Clifford Law Offices Tops Chicago Lawyer Magazine Settlement Survey for 2002
Press Release, 11/20/2002Clifford Law Offices, a consistent leader in multi-million-dollar settlements in Chicago, topped the charts in the Chicago Lawyer’s annual settlement survey of Illinois law firms for 2002.
The settlements totaled $136.85 million in areas of law from aviation crashes, medical malpractice and automobile collisions to product liability cases. The largest single settlement was that of Rachel Barton, the internationally-acclaimed violinist who was severely injured in a train accident that settled for $35 million. The tally also included a $22 million settlement in a product liability case involving a Ford Explorer.
The magazine singled out Robert A. Clifford as lead counsel in these cases as well as his numerous other multi-million-dollar settlements totaling $77.32 million in five settlements. The publication also cited partners Kevin P. Durkin and Richard K. Burke for their impressive records this past year.
The firm garnered 24 personal injury and wrongful death settlements in the year.
