Clifford Speaks in New York on Witness Preparation

Robert Clifford , partner at Clifford Law Offices and Vice Chair of the Section of Litigation, attended a lunch with keynote speaker Tom Brokaw, anchor of the NBC Nightly News.

Brokaw presented the Section’s International Human Rights Award for 2000 to Digna Ochoa y Placido, Legal Director of the Miguel Agustin Pro Juarez Human Rights Center in Mexico City, Mexico.

Also at the lunch was current Section of Litigation Chair H. Thomas Wells of Birmingham, Alabama.

Clifford is now in London, England, where he will become Vice Chair of the 60,000-member Section of Litigation. He will accede to Chair next August at the ABA’s Annual Meeting in Chicago.

Clifford spoke last week on an all-star panel at the American Bar Association Section of Litigation Annual Meeting in New York, in a program entitlted, "When Your Own Trial Witness Blows a Gaping Hole in Your Case, How Far Can You Go to Keep Your Case From Sinking Like the Titanic?"

Clifford presented a multi-media presentation on preparing and rehabilitating one’s witnesses for trial.

Clifford is now on to Cambridge, England, where he is participating in a program at Oxford University comparing British and American civil justice systems.
