Clifford to File Lawsuit for Arlington Heights Police Officer Broadsided by Hearse
Press Release, 10/26/2000Nationally renown attorney Robert A. Clifford has been retained in yet another high-profile personal injury case.
Clifford will file suit today (Thursday, Oct. 26) on behalf of an Arlington Heights police oficer who was seriously injured earlier this month (Oct. 13) when a hearse ran a red light and broadsided his squad car at an intersection.
Charles Tiedje, 37, was on a routine patrol when his car was struck sending him into three other nearby vehicles. He had to be removed from his car and airlifted to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he remains hospitalized in critical condition.

In a negligence lawsuit, Clifford names Weinstein Family Services, a funeral home in Wilmette, Weinstein Brothers Inc. and Aleksandr Babayev, the driver whose speeding hearse hit the police officer’s car.
Clifford also will be going into court asking the Cook County Circuit Court to enter a protective order to preserve the 911 tapes at the scene.
