The nation's most respected attorneys and scholars will gather in Chicago to address the economics of the contingency fee in tort practice, its impact on bargaining, strategizing and settlement as well as the changing use of the contingency fee over the years.

Robert A. Clifford, one of the most successful tort lawyers in the country, endowed DePaul University College of Law with the country's first Chair of Tort Law and Social Policy in order to provide intellectual debate on the impact of the tort system on today's society. Since 1994, the endowment has provided support for faculty research, teaching as well as sponsorship of an annual seminar on a timely issue in the area of tort law.
