Lawsuit Filed on Behalf of Tollway Construction Worker Killed by Motorist

Press Release, 10/20/2004

Clifford Law Offices filed Oct. 20 a lawsuit on behalf of a construction worker for the Illinois State Tollway who was struck and killed by a motorist while standing on I-294 last month.

Paul Anthony Liotine, 27, of West Chicago was a member of a state construction crew on the southbound lanes near Oak Brook when a semi-tractor trailer struck him.

Named as defendants are the driver, Iavor Dihonov of Palos Hills, and the company for which he was working, Reserve Transportation Services, Inc., of Chicago.

"The driver should have taken appropriate measures in looking out for helpless workers who were on foot in the area," said Matthew Willens, attorney at Clifford Law Offices. Liotine was a youth leader at his church and a camp counselor in Hanover Park. He was a 1995 graduate of Addison Trail High School.
