Robert Clifford Files Class Action Against Aurora Clinic for Bilking Multiple Sclerosis Patients

Press Release, 11/17/1999

Clifford Law Offices filed today (Wednesday, Nov. 17) a class action lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against an Aurora clinic that bilked multiple sclerosis patients.

The complaint alleges that LifeCare Systems of Aurora fraudulently promised its patients a newly-discovered cure for the debilitating disease when, in fact, it worsened some people's conditions and at a huge expense.

Robert Clifford, principal partner of Clifford Law Offices , represents Karen Paladino of Roselle, mother of 31-year-old Lynette Tunzi of Lake in the Hills who has the genetic disease.

"LifeCare Systems and a man who held himself out as Dr. Stephen Wechter made many false promises to this family and many others," Clifford said. "Let it be known that we will not tolerate this type of conduct and we are out to shut down these intolerable activities that victimize the defenseless.

The complaint which alleges fraud against LifeCare and Wechter asks for the money defrauded from these patients as well as for punitive damages.
