"The American Civil Jury: Illusion and Reality" - Fourth Annual Clifford Symposium on Tort Law and Social Policy
Sponsored by DePaul University College of Law & American Bar Association Section of Litigation, 04/03/1998
A group of America's most knowledgeable social scientists, legal academics, and lawyers will gather at DePaul University in Chicago to examine the American civil jury. Topics to be considered will include popular views of the jury, judicial assessment of jury performance, jury awards of damages in civil actions, and jury views about corporate defendants, minority litigants, and class action proceedings. A distinguished panel of lawyers will discuss and demonstrate a variety of advocacy techniques designed to respond to the realities of the contemporary jury.
