New Partner at Clifford Law Offices

Press Release, 01/19/2006

Matthew L. Willens has been promoted to partner at Clifford Law Offices, a nationally recognized personal injury and wrongful death law firm.

He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum where membership is limited to trial attorneys who have obtained million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements.  In 2004, he was named one of the "40 Attorneys Under 40 in Illinois to Watch" by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company from among a pool of more than 1,100 nominees.  He is listed in Who's Who in American Law and Strathmore' Who's Who, publications that honor the best and brightest lawyers in the country.

Willens graduated from Loyola University School of Law, where he received the Paul Revere Eastern Star of Illinois Scholarship for community service and academic excellence.  Prior to attending Loyola University, Willens graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Willens enjoys giving back to his community, with a resume that includes many guest lecturing positions and contributing authorship on wrongful death and survival actions for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

Willens handles a number of important matters including wrongful death construction negligence cases, medical malpractice cases and vehicular negligence cases including recently receiving a $3 million settlement on behalf of a young woman whose mother was killed in a car crash. Prior to coming to Clifford Law Offices, Willens worked for a major insurance company where he coordinated highly complex multi-million dollar cases.  His experience on both sides of the aisle, as well as his tenacity in the courtroom makes Willens a valuable member of the Clifford Law Offices team of attorneys.

Willens and his family reside in suburban Riverwoods.
