18-Year-Old Killed in Iowa Farm Accident

Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sergeant Duane Riche said an 18-year-old from rural Minden, Iowa, was killed in the accident, reports KJAN Radio.
Riche told the news source that the man was having difficulty starting a model 1466 International tractor and reportedly decided to roll-start it by going down a hill.
While doing this the tractor started to bounce, became out of control and rolled over a terrace, throwing the man off, said Riche. The man died at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation, reports the Associated Press.
The National Safety Council estimates that farm accidents and other work-related health problems on farms kill as many as 1,300 people each year.
