    Joan and Robert Clifford to be Honored by the Lawyers for the Creative Arts

    Robert A. Clifford, founder and senior partner at Clifford Law Offices, and his wife Joan will be honored at a luncheon for their work in promoting the arts in Chicago.

    Lawyers for the Creative Arts (LCA) will be honoring the couple at a luncheon Nov. 1 at the Palmer House Hilton at its 2018 Benefit Luncheon recognizing their long history of board service volunteer work and philanthropy for the arts.
    Bob and Joan are tremendous supporters of the Goodman Theatre in Chicago.

    Joan recently finished a three-year term as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Goodman Theatre. She also has chaired the previous two capital campaigns for the Theatre and currently serves as Special Events Chair. She is a past president of the Goodman Theatre Women’s Board where she has been an active member since 2004 and joined the Board of Trustees in 2008.

    A “star” with their names is embedded in the Walk of Fame sidewalk in front of the theatre at 170 N. Dearborn Street to honor their countless contributions to the success of the Theatre that has been in Chicago since 1925. The Goodman Theatre it is the city’s oldest currently active nonprofit theater organization.

    Bob is an active supporter of many causes including serving on the Board of Trustees for WTTW where he initiated and has long supported closed captioning of local programming for more than 10 years. The couple also gives endless hours to help underprivileged children in Southwest Florida through the Naples Children and Education Foundation.

    The theme of the Nov. 1 event is Chicago’s Year of Creative Youth and will be marked by a performance of the Chicago Children’s Choir and Forward Momentum Chicago that provides quality dance education programs to schools and communities with limited arts access, also honorees.

    “For Joan and Bob, pro bono service and philanthropy to the art is both family and business goal,” said Jan Feldman, LCA Executive Director. “Their many years of active work for the arts has made a huge difference in the quality of the arts environment that we all enjoy in Chicago and all of Illinois.”

    LCA is now in its 46th year as the sole legal services organization exclusively serving artists and arts organization in the State of Illinois. With the volunteer work of more than 1,000 lawyers in law firms and corporate law departments, LCA is able to serve the arts community with highly specialized representation in all areas of arts and entertainment law.
