Teens Obtaining a Driver’s License – Advisory from ISBA

Question: Must an older teen take classroom driver’s education training to obtain a full driver’s license? Answer: Starting July 1, 2014, 18-, 19- and 20-year-olds who haven’t yet received a driver’s license must complete six hours of classroom or online driver’s education training. This is in addition to passing vision, written and road tests. Currently, driver’s education for that age group is optional.
