Matthew D. Moyer has joined Clifford Law Offices as a senior associate. He has been assigned a variety of cases involving wrongful death and catastrophic injuries.
Mr. Moyer previously worked at the Department of Justice as a federal prosecutor in Chicago, where he investigated and prosecuted white-collar criminals, organized crime groups, and drug cartels. In one case, he worked with the FBI to uncover a multi-million-dollar fraud scheme. The case was covered by national and international news outlets. He also served as a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney, gaining invaluable trial experience in several divisions, including Juvenile Crimes and the Child Protection Division, where he was appointed as a trial specialist. Mr. Moyer tried multiple felony cases during his tenure as an assistant state’s attorney.
After graduating magna cum laude from Notre Dame Law School, Mr. Moyer worked at a prominent Chicago law firm, gaining experience in complex litigation focused on criminal cases and civil and human rights matters in federal court.
Originally from Fort Myers, Florida, Mr. Moyer graduated cum laude from Boston College with a B.A. in philosophy and served as captain of the Mock Trial Team. He is proficient in Spanish, speaks beginner Serbian, and, in his free time, enjoys golfing, playing chess, and spending time with his family and friends. He currently resides in Chicago with his wife and daughter.
