Robert A. Clifford, founder and senior partner at Clifford Law Offices, spoke at the Chicago Bar Association’s “Trial Superstars on Presenting Your Case: Trial Strategies and Innovations” program. The all-day CLE took place on June 11, 2026, at The Metropolitan Club in Chicago.
Clifford joined a panel with Dan Webb of Winston & Strawn on “Winning Trial Strategies.” The two powerhouse lawyers have faced each other for the last seven years in federal district court on opposite sides of the litigation involving the Boeing crash that killed 157 people in Ethiopia.
Other speakers included Hon. Thomas V. Lyons II, Presiding Judge of the Law Division, Circuit Court of Cook County, and Hon. Nichole Patton, Trial Section of the Law Division, Circuit Court of Cook County, and current CBA President, who offered “Tips from the Bench.” Hon. Eileen O’Neill Burke, Cook County State’s Attorney, spoke on the “Perspective of Cook County State’s Attorney.”
The program offered attendees 6.5 hours of Illinois continuing legal education credit, including 1.75 hours of professional responsibility credit.
