Charles R. Haskins, partner at Clifford Law Offices, will join attorneys and members of the judiciary at the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) Annual Update & Review Seminar on October 12 in Chicago, where he will discuss developments in rideshare litigation and the impact of high-profile cases on this evolving area of law.
Haskins’ presentation, “Updates on Estate of Geller v. Uber & Ride Share Cases,” will examine case specifics within the broader context of rideshare litigation. The half-day seminar will feature presentations on developments in Illinois law and trial practice and qualifies for four hours of continuing legal education (CLE) credit.
At Clifford Law Offices, Chuck Haskins focuses on complex personal injury and wrongful death litigation, including transportation accidents, product liability, medical malpractice, and premises liability. An active member of the Illinois trial bar, he also serves on the ITLA Board of Managers and regularly speaks and writes on litigation topics.
His casework includes significant results in complex transportation cases, including a $60 million settlement on behalf of a 31-year-old Illinois woman who was paralyzed in a crash on Interstate 55 and a $4.85 million settlement on behalf of the family of a 27-year-old man who died when the vehicle he was a passenger in was struck by a speeding semi-truck.
Other speakers include the Hon. Thomas V. Lyons II, Presiding Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court, Law Division, who will present “Law Division Update & Judicial Perspective.” The seminar will be held at the Westin Chicago River North, 320 N. Dearborn, Chicago, with registration beginning at 7:15 a.m.
