James Pullos Discusses Advocacy, Accountability, and Client Trust in Lawdragon Interview

In an interview with Lawdragon, James Pullos, partner at Clifford Law Offices, reflects on a career shaped by challenge, perspective, and a deep sense of responsibility to his clients.

Jim Pullos’ path to personal injury law was shaped over time, through a range of roles and experiences. As the first in his family to attend and graduate from a four-year university, his decision to pursue law was rooted in a desire to challenge himself and make a difference.

Following the completion of law school and an MBA, he began his career at the Criminal Prosecutions Bureau of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, advancing through the ranks for more than a decade before moving into personal injury litigation. Throughout these roles, his mindset has remained the same: the work of a lawyer is to advocate for people and pursue accountability in ways that make a difference in their lives.

“You’re dealing with people at the intersection of the most catastrophic events of their lives,” Jim explains. “Your two greatest tools are being incredibly confident and being able to listen.”

That perspective shapes how he approaches every case he handles. Jim shares that trust is at the core of every personal injury case, and without it, trial experience, preparation, and results have no foundation. Handling serious claims stemming from trucking and auto accidents, as well as medical negligence and assault injuries, clients come to him under unexpected and painful circumstances, and the responsibility he feels to guide them through that process is not taken lightly.

“It is fulfilling to live up to our clients’ expectations, to be able to earn the trust that they give us.”

Jim’s interview offers a clear look at the mindset behind his advocacy: a balance of discipline, humility, and unwavering focus on the people he represents.
