The Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF) awarded $11.9 million in grants to more than 30 organizations dedicated to helping needy children in southwest Florida.

“The money the Foundation raised will make a difference in the lives of so many children,” said Robert A. Clifford, President of the Foundation and senior partner at Clifford Law Offices. “It’s investing in the future of this area and of our country through its children.”

A grants committee of the Foundation’s board works year round to determine the distribution of the funds raised at the Festival that is expected to be held Jan. 27-29, 2017, at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.

More than $8 million was donated this month to individual charities in the area and $3.8 million for strategic initiatives in Collier County, Florida. The money is raised at an annual wine auction in January, considered by many experts to be the best and the largest in the world. Since its inception in 2001, more than $146 million has been raised for its mission.

Organizations that provide adolescent nutrition wellness, eye care, shelter for the abused, school books and other care that has impacted more than 400,000 children. Among the 2016 recipients included the Collier Child Care Resources, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Sun Coast, Boys & Girls Club of Collier County, Early Learning and Literacy Model, Greater Naples YMCA and Special Olympics.
