Robert A. Clifford Receives the 2022 DePaul Law School Distinguished Alumnus Award

Robert A. Clifford was the recipient of the DePaul University Distinguished Alumnus Award at the institution’s annual alumni reception on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

The award, which was presented by DePaul University College of Law Dean Jennifer Rosato Perea, honors an individual who exemplifies outstanding service to the law school. Past recipients include U.S. Circuit Court Judge for the Seventh Circuit, William Bauer; Samuel Skinner; and U.S. Judge Ann Jorgensen, Associate Judge for the 18th Judicial Circuit in Illinois.

Bob has an extensive history with DePaul University having earned his undergraduate degree in 1973, followed by a J.D. from DePaul College of Law in 1976. In 1994, he was honored with DePaul’s inaugural Outstanding Service to the Legal Profession Award.

Over the decades, Bob has supported numerous events, programs, and initiatives led by the University, including his endowment of the annual Clifford Symposium on Tort Law and Social Policy which brings together dozens of academics and experts on various areas of tort law that impact consumers. He also initiated the Clifford Scholar-in-Residence program which recognizes a talented rising star in civil litigation who then participates in classes and faculty activities within their areas of expertise. It culminates with a presentation to the entire DePaul community that features a response from a senior law commentator.

    Congratulations, Bob!
