Bob Clifford spoke to Anita Blanton, host of Fox News’ streaming live show “Chicago Live” on Thursday, November 6, regarding the crash of a UPS cargo jet earlier this week in Louisville, Kentucky, killing at least 12 people.
Clifford spoke of “graveyard engineering,” a phrase often used to indicate that changes do not occur until there are deaths involving a fatal tragedy. He also said that he has received calls from lawyers in Louisville and others regarding what their rights are in a civil action for those injured or for family members who lost loved ones in the Tuesday UPS cargo jet crash.
Additionally, Clifford made comparisons to his experience in handling the crash of an American Airlines jet, which killed all 271 on board and two more people on the ground in 1979, when the left engine also detached shortly after takeoff. He mentioned that because the Louisville UPS cargo jet was headed to Honolulu, Hawaii, it was full of fuel and exploded upon impact.
