Clifford Law Offices is honored to serve as the Premier Sustaining Partner Sponsor of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois (WBAI) for the 2024-2025 bar year, supporting an organization whose mission to protect and advance women in law closely aligns with our values as a firm.

Sarah F. King, partner at Clifford Law Offices and outgoing WBAI President, led an impactful year of leadership that we are proud to celebrate. As we reflect on the collective accomplishments of Sarah’s term, the WBAI, and our firm over the past year, we are reminded of the power of shared purpose. From championing community service projects and advancing legislative advocacy to expanding mentorship opportunities and creating spaces for women lawyers to lead and thrive, together we have strengthened the legal community and inspired attorneys throughout Illinois to continue striving for greater equity and opportunity in the legal profession.

Contributing to the Success of Women Lawyers

By serving as the WBAI’s Premier Sustaining Partner, Clifford Law Offices was able to help broaden the association’s reach, support new legal education programs, mentorship opportunities, and engaging networking events that elevated and connected women lawyers across Illinois.

“Partnering with the WBAI is a powerful step toward empowering women, ensuring their voices shape the future of law, and creating a legal community where equality, leadership, and opportunity thrive for all.”
-Robert A. Clifford, founder and senior partner at Clifford Law Offices

A Year of Connection, Service, and Advocacy

Under Sarah’s presidency, the WBAI made significant progress in building community, increasing access to justice, and promoting women’s leadership. The theme “Together in Service” guided every initiative, from community outreach to legislative advocacy and professional development opportunities.

During the 2024-2025 bar year, the WBAI:

    • Co-hosted the IWIL EmpowHER Event, honoring women leaders in politics.
    • Brought the legal community together at Race Judicata, earning first place for team spirit and design.
    • Partnered with local organizations to fight domestic violence through the Domestic Violence Legal Summit and expanded access to pro bono legal services for survivors.
    • Supported young women leaders through the Girls Lead program and invested in future generations.
    • Provided vital community support—from holiday meals with Onward Neighborhood House to festive gift-giving with the Daisie Foundation, and a Mother’s Day Makeover initiative that celebrated moms in need.
    • Promoted inclusion in the workplace through Sexual Harassment Prevention CLEs and mentorship programs.
    • Advocated at the state level through Lobby Day in Springfield, promoting policies that protect and empower women, including paid family leave.
    • During the 2024-2025 bar year, the WBAI hosted, co-hosted, or sponsored 31 events, engaging the Illinois legal community with an approximate total attendance of 2,220. Ten of those events were Continuing Legal Education events, and two were volunteer events.

WBAI Annual Dinner: Celebrating a Year of Success

The bar year concluded with the WBAI’s 111th Annual Installation Dinner on June 26, 2025, where leaders, members, and partners gathered to celebrate a year of hard work, collaboration, and the organization’s future. Hundreds of attendees from across the state honored incoming WBAI President Katie Twardak and welcomed the 2025-2026 Board of Directors.

As a sponsor of the Annual Dinner, Clifford Law Offices reaffirmed our dedication and support for the WBAI, recognizing the outstanding contributions of members and honoring Sarah’s impactful term as President.
