A school bus in Will County was struck head-on by a vehicle the morning of January 15, 2026, resulting in 10 students and the bus driver reportedly being hospitalized.
At approximately 8:25 a.m., the Manhattan Fire Protection District responded to a traffic crash involving a school bus transporting Manhattan School District 114 students and a passenger sedan vehicle near the intersection of Manhattan-Monee Road and Kankakee Street.
One person in the passenger vehicle is confirmed to have been killed, fire officials said. This incident remains under investigation.
