Clifford Law Offices is a sponsor of Diversity Scholarship Foundation’s annual Unity Gala which will be held virtually on November 30, 2021.
In addition to awarding 21 scholarships to diverse and deserving law students, the Foundation also will be presenting numerous awards to individuals in the legal community who have demonstrated a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the profession.
This year’s prestigious Unity Award honoree is Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives Emanuel “Chris” Welch (D-Hillside). Illinois State Rep. Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz (D-Glenview) will receive the Hon. Laura Liu Access to Justice Award.
The following individuals will receive the “Advocate for Diversity” award: Erica N. Byrd, Senior Attorney, Valentine Austriaco & Bueschel; Hon. Megan Goldish, Judge, Circuit Court of Cook County; Antonio M. Romanucci, Founding Partner, RomanucciBlandin Law; Jennifer L. Rosato Perea, Dean and Professor of Law, DePaul College of Law; Marvet Sweis Drnovsek, Founder, MSD Injury Lawyers; and Adam M. Zebelian, Associate, Schiller DuCanto & Fleck.
In addition to the awards ceremony, Hon. Timothy Evans, Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, will perform the swearing in of bar presidents’ ceremony where presidents of the various bar associations will take the “Oath of Unity,” pledging to promote diversity and inclusion within the profession.
