Clifford Law Offices is a sponsor for the Orange County Coastkeeper’s 2022 Toast the Coast fundraiser which honors the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act. The event will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Newport Beach, CA.
The Federal Water Pollution Control Act of 1948, was the first major law to regulate water pollution. As a growing concern about water pollution heightened public awareness in the 1970s, significant amendments were made to the law, and it became commonly known as the Clean Water Act.
The Orange County Coastkeeper is an environmental nonprofit with the mission of sustaining healthy, accessible water resources for the Greater Orange County area in California through education, advocacy, restoration, enforcement, research, and conservation. Since 1972, the Clean Water Act has been critical in enforcing the organization’s mission of “protecting swimmable, drinkable, and fishable water for present and future generations.”
