Juan R. Thomas, Of Counsel at Clifford Law Offices, has been elected to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Illinois Board of Directors.
Thomas, who served as the 75th President of the National Bar Association, will serve with about 50 others on the Board of the ACLU, a nonpartisan, non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and defending the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, the Illinois Constitution, and state/federal human rights laws.
Thomas, who has received many awards over his 30 years of practice including being named a member of the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission Review Board in 2025 by the Illinois Supreme Court, said, “Protecting civil rights for people and communities across Illinois matters deeply. Serving on the Board of Directors of the ACLU of Illinois is an opportunity to support that essential work.”
