Keith Hebeisen to Speak at ITLA Medical Malpractice Seminar

Keith A. Hebeisen, partner at Clifford Law Offices and head of its medical malpractice group, will be speaking at the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association annual Medical Malpractice seminar.

Hebeisen, a past ITLA President and Editor of its Medical Malpractice Trial Notebook since 1992 used by lawyers across the state, will be speaking at the virtual seminar on “The Lost Chance Doctrine After Bailey v. Mercy Hospital.”

Bailey (2020 IL App (1st) 182702) is a case decided Sept. 30, 2020, by the First District Appellate Court where the court held that plaintiff was denied a fair trial when her request at trial was denied to give a nonpattern jury instruction on the loss of chance doctrine.

This year the four-hour seminar will be held two days: Dec. 1. and Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon and offers four hours of continuing legal education credit. Several other topics will be discussed including the impact of COVID-19 on medical malpractice cases and the Hon. Lorna E. Propes of the Cook County Circuit Court Law Division discussing the judicial perspective of the courts.

The program is open to ITLA members only for $50.  To register, go here.
