Sarah F. King, partner at Clifford Law Offices and past President of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois (WBAI), will be moderating a panel of judges, Tuesday, January 13, at the Daley Center on “Navigating the Law Division: Trial Essentials From the Bench CLE.”
Hon. Thomas V. Lyons II, Presiding Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court Law Division, will be addressing what to expect from the trial setting call and the pre-trial call.
Hon. Maura Slattery-Boyle will speak on jury selection. Hon. Patricia O’Brien Sheahan will address the use of exhibits, common objections, and jury engagement, and Hon. James M. Varga will speak on jury instructions.
The hybrid program, sponsored by the WBAI, will be held online and in person from 4-6 p.m. Members are free; non-members pay $30. This program offers 1 hour of CLE credit, providing practical, bench-driven insights on jury selection, trial presentation, evidentiary considerations, and courtroom strategy.
A mix-and-mingle with light refreshments will follow the program.
