Kristofer S. Riddle, partner at Clifford Law Offices, has been selected to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS).
The 2,100+ volunteer member organization is comprised of attorneys who donate their time and legal knowledge to help thousands of low-income Chicagoans each year.
“All of us at Clifford Law Offices are very proud of Kris’ generous giving of his time and expertise to those who are in need of legal services,” said Robert A. Clifford, founder and senior partner at Clifford Law Offices. “He works hard for his clients at the firm, and it is his nature to work just as hard for those with recognized legal needs but who simply can’t afford a lawyer. He is an example of all that is good to lawyers across Chicago.”
Attorneys from a pool of nearly 1,000 firms, companies, and organizations throughout the city are trained to make the most significant impact in the most cost-effective way possible. Judges in Probate, Chancery, and Domestic Relations appoint CVLS to assign these volunteer attorneys to represent parties in complex litigation and to serve as guardian ad litem for children or disabled adults.
“I am happy that I am able to use my knowledge and experience helping others navigate what can be a complex and inaccessible system to many,” said Riddle, a longtime volunteer of the organization. “I think it is important to give back to the community and this is one way I feel I can help others in their time of need.”
