Clifford Law Offices Attorneys Volunteer at AAJ Student Trial Advocacy Competition

Attorneys from Clifford Law Offices served as judges and trial coaches at the American Association of Justice (AAJ) Student Trial Advocacy Competition (STAC), held March 5–8 at the Richard J. Daley Center in Chicago.

Partners Bradley M. Cosgrove, Keith A. Hebeisen, Charles R. Haskins, David F. Jasinski, Thomas J. Tomasik, Joseph T. Murphy, Gregory M. Beck, and Scott J. Kater, along with associates Nicholas T. Motherway, Devin J. Piper, and Matthew M. Moyer contributed their time and perspective to mentoring law students as they sharpened and demonstrated critical trial skills in a competitive, real-world environment.

In addition to their involvement in the courtroom, Brad Cosgrove, in conjunction with the firm, hosted a student banquet during the competition, creating space for participants to connect with one another and with members of the trial bar.

The AAJ Student Trial Advocacy Competition features regional rounds in which law students try simulated cases, honing their trial advocacy skills. The program emphasizes the fundamentals of effective trial work, including preparation, strategy, and professionalism.

Efforts like these reflect Clifford Law Offices’ ongoing investment in mentoring the next generation of trial lawyers. Through their involvement, attorneys share insights and help strengthen the future of the legal profession.

Congratulations to the 2026 STAC Chicago Regional winners, Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and the University of Notre Dame Law School, who will go on to represent Chicago at the National competition!
