For nearly four decades, Clifford Law Offices has built its national reputation through consequential litigation, client advocacy, and an enduring commitment to the people it represents. Modern Luxury’s 2026 “Dynamic Women” issue recognizes the women of our firm who help lead that work, highlighting the talent, perspective, and leadership that shape our Chicago personal injury law firm today.
The profile includes partners Tracy Brammeier, Susan Capra, Sarah King, and Shannon McNulty; associates Courtney Berlin, Julia Brosnahan, and Marta Davidson; Managing Director Erin Clifford; and Communications Partner Pamela Menaker. Together, they bring more than a century of combined experience to complex litigation, firm leadership, and service to the legal profession.
At the Center of Complex Litigation
Their work reaches across some of the firm’s most demanding matters. Tracy Brammeier represents families in high-stakes commercial aviation litigation that can span international borders, multiple legal systems, and years of investigation, including serving as court-appointed Liaison Counsel for plaintiffs in the federal litigation arising from the 2019 crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302. Susan Capra, a registered nurse and attorney, brings a rare clinical perspective to medical malpractice cases involving maternal mortality, birth injuries, and catastrophic patient harm.
Sarah King has built her practice representing women and families in medical malpractice litigation involving maternal and birth injuries, having obtained record verdicts on behalf of families who have suffered life-changing medical negligence. She is also an active leader and advocate in the Chicago legal community, having served as a Past President of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and currently serving on the Chicago Bar Association Board of Managers.
Shannon McNulty draws on experience in public service, investigations, and data analysis in matters involving fraud, concealed information, and corporate misconduct, handling some of the firm’s most extensive casework, including serving as co-Lead Counsel in the Purdue Pharma bankruptcy proceedings and as Liaison Counsel in the data privacy suit against TikTok.
A Broader Influence
The depth of experience represented in the Modern Luxury profile extends beyond the firm’s partners. Courtney Berlin, Julia Brosnahan, and Marta Davidson contribute to litigation and client advocacy, while Erin Clifford and Pamela Menaker extend the firm’s influence through leadership, legal education, professional organizations, and public engagement.
The firm’s founder and senior partner, Robert Clifford, credits that strength to a culture built around shared excellence and opportunity: “Excellence isn’t built alone. It grows through collaboration, mentorship, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.”
Collectively, their work spans generations, disciplines, and areas of practice, with each bringing her own experience and perspective to the firm’s most consequential work, leadership, and role in the legal profession.
