The first trial is underway on behalf of the families of two victims who were killed in the 2019 crash of a Boeing MAX8 jet. Clifford Law Offices has represented numerous victims and their families of those who were injured or killed in various air crash disasters and including the families of 74 victims who lost loved ones in the Boeing 737 Max8 crash in Ethiopia.
The first trial in this crash began Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, and is expected to last two weeks. Clifford Law Offices represents the Estate of Mercy Ngami Ndivo, (case No. 19-cv-05563), in federal district court in Chicago. Also the Estate of Shikha Garg, (case No. 19-cv-05079), is being tried simultaneously with another plaintiff’s firm.
A jury of eight was selected on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Opening statements from all lawyers are expected to last three hours and will begin the following morning.
The trial is on behalf of the family of Mercy Ndivo, 28, who was on the flight heading home to Kenya after attending a graduation ceremony to celebrate earning her master’s degree in Professional Accountancy in London. She leaves behind her parents and her minor daughter.
